A Sportfishing Licence is required for all anglers 16+ (free for Alberta residents under 16, residents 65+, and resident Canadian Armed Forces Veterans). Residents have no short-term option, only the C$30 annual; non-residents can buy 1-day (C$27 Canadian / C$29 alien) or 7-day (C$43 / C$57) licences instead of the annual. A separate Special Walleye Harvest Licence (C$12, Alberta residents only) is required on top to keep walleye on waters where it applies.
