Étang de Courtille is a compact 20-hectare reservoir in the Creuse department offering solid mixed fishing with carp, catfish, tench and bream alongside pike and perch – a genuine all-rounder rather than a specialist carp venue. Day fishing only and bank-only access means you'll need to plan your sessions carefully (roughly 331 miles from Calais, so a proper road trip). You'll need a valid French fishing licence and to check in with the local AAPPMA before your visit.

Spring (March–June) is the classic French carp season, with fish actively feeding and moving into shallow margins.
