Étang de Saint-Pardoux is a massive 319-hectare reservoir in Haute-Vienne offering excellent carp and catfish opportunities across sprawling open water—ideal if you want space and variety without the crowds of smaller French lakes. Day fishing only (no night sessions), but you can cover serious ground with seasonal petrol or electric boat hire, making it perfect for exploring different swims and features. Note: you'll need an AAPPMA day licence from Fédération Pêche 87 (€20–30 typically), and at 340 miles from Calais it's a proper expedition worth combining with nearby venues in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Night fishing at Étang de Saint-Pardoux is not permitted. Night fishing strictly forbidden at Lac de Saint-Pardoux. Fishing hours: 30 mins before sunrise to 30 mins after sunset only.
