Étang de Tyx is a sprawling 69-hectare reservoir in Creuse offering excellent mixed fishing with solid populations of carp, catfish, pike and tench — ideal if you want variety alongside your carp sessions. Day fishing only and bank access means you'll need to make the most of daylight hours, though the size gives plenty of room to explore different swims. This is a long haul from Calais (353 miles), so best combined with other Nouvelle-Aquitaine venues; you'll need an AAPPMA day ticket or annual licence from FDAAPPMA 23.
Night fishing at Étang de Tyx is not permitted. Night carp not authorised on this lake. Creuse's designated night carp venues are: Barrage des Combes, Barrage de Champsanglard, Barrage de Faux-la-Montagne, Barrage de Lavaud-Gélade, Barrage de l'Âge, Barrage de Vassivière.
