This massive 388-hectare reservoir in the Tarn offers excellent carp fishing across vast open water, with the added bonus of night fishing in designated zones—ideal for extended sessions. Night fishing at Lac de la Raviège is not permitted. Lac de la Raviège is classified as a "grand lac intérieur" by ministerial arrêté of 15 March 2012. It straddles the Tarn (370ha on Tarn side, 130ha in Tarn, rest in Hérault) and Hérault departments. As a grand lac intérieur it has a specific inter-prefectoral reglementation (AP inter-préfectoral DDTM34-2018-10-09862). The Tarn ARP 2025 states night carp rules for the lake must follow this inter-prefectoral arrêté. The lake is classified 1st category on the Hérault side. Night fishing for carp is NOT authorised — the Tarn ARP states "aucune carpe capturée ne peut être maintenue en captivité ou transportée pendant la nuit" (standard no-night-keep rule) but there are night carp parcours on other Tarn waters (Agout, Dadou) not on the Raviège itself. Season: 2nd Sat March to 1st Sunday of November. Anglers must leave the bank before dark.
Boat fishing: Boats are permitted at Lac de la Raviège. Navigation regulated. Two designated night carp parcours at the Raviège exist for the AAPPMA d'Anglès but are specific bank sections only. Boats authorised with specific navigation rules — refer to inter-prefectoral arrêté. Trolling permitted on some sections.
Bivouac & overnight camping is not permitted at Lac de la Raviège. Grand lac intérieur with 1st category classification on Hérault side. Night fishing not authorised so overnight bivouac not relevant.

The main coarse close season applies to some rivers (typically January–March for certain species), but still-water carp fishing on private and AAPPMA-managed lakes is available throughout the year. Spring (March–June) is the classic French carp season, with fish actively feeding and moving into shallow margins. Summer nights (June–August) are ideal for big-fish sessions on the large public reservoirs and rivers. Autumn (September–November) is particularly productive on the Auvergne and Languedoc lakes as temperatures drop.
