Lac de Litérole is a small, scenic mountain lake in the Hautes-Pyrénées that's better suited to trout and pike anglers than carpers — there's no night fishing due to its high-altitude location, and it's exclusively bank-fished. At 574 miles from Calais, it's a serious road trip in France's far south, making it more of a specialist destination than a convenient stop-off. Note: You'll need a French fishing licence and FDAAPPMA 65 membership to fish here.
