Lac de Pannecière is a sprawling 423-hectare reservoir in Burgundy offering excellent mixed fishing for carp, pike, perch, zander and bream across its vast expanse. Day fishing only applies to most sectors, so plan accordingly—night sessions aren't permitted here, though it's worth confirming current restrictions with AAPPMA de la Nièvre before your trip. A challenging 278 miles from Calais, this remote venue rewards dedicated anglers with plenty of space and quality carp habitat, but you'll need to fish from the bank (no boat access) and obtain your permit and AAPPMA membership beforehand.

Night fishing at Lac de Pannecière is authorised under Nièvre regulations. Night carp confirmed on designated bank sections. Season: 1 February–30 June and 24 August–31 October. Note: interdiction from 1 July to ~24 August (summer period). Bank fishing only. Vegetable baits only. Immediate release. Boat fishing: Only electric motors are permitted — thermal engines are forbidden. Electric motors only — no thermal motors on Lac de Pannecière. Multiple launch ramps. Bivouac & overnight camping is permitted at Lac de Pannecière under standard French fishing law — one rod, within 10m of the water, no open fires. Night carp parcours have designated bank pegs. Standard Morvan rules apply. No fires.

Best Time to Fish in France
