Friesland is home to the famous Friese Meren — over 100 interconnected lakes and polder canals holding excellent Carp, Bream and Pike. The Sneekermeer (1,400ha) and Tjeukemeer are among the Netherlands' most productive public waters. A VISpas covers most lakes; a NachtVIStoestemming is required for overnight sessions on most Friesian waters.
