Kuyavian-Pomeranian (Kujawsko-Pomorskie) covers the lowland country between Bydgoszcz and Toruń, where the Brda and Noteć rivers join the Vistula on the Kujawy plain. The Brda — one of Poland's finest coarse rivers — flows through the Tucholska Forest on its way south, holding pike, perch, trout and grayling in its upper sections and carp, barbel and bream in its lower reach through Bydgoszcz. Gopło lake — 21 km long, the largest lake in the Polish lowlands — produces excellent pike, perch, bream and carp.
The Noteć river, part of the historic Bydgoszcz Canal system (now the Polish Waterway), holds excellent bream, pike and zander. The Vistula through Toruń adds specimen catfish and asp. The region is approximately 14 hours from the Channel Tunnel via Berlin and Poznan. Permits are issued by the PZW district in Bydgoszcz — online booking at wedkarz.pzw.pl.
