About Łódź

Łódź voivodeship (Łódzkie) occupies central Poland — the geographic heart of the country — and is drained by the Pilica, Bzura and Warta rivers flowing north and west from the uplands. The Pilica is the voivodeship's premier fishing river, a medium-sized lowland river holding excellent pike, perch, bream, carp and zander on public PZW stretches from the headwaters near Przedbórz to the confluence with the Vistula. The Zbiornik Sulejowski reservoir on the upper Pilica — one of Poland's largest reservoirs — provides exceptional pike, perch and bream fishing.

The Bzura flowing north through Łęczyca holds bream, pike and carp. The Warta — a major Odra tributary — passes through the western edge of the voivodeship. Łódź itself has no major airport but is 130 km from Warsaw and 120 km from Poznan by motorway. Permits are issued by PZW Łódź district.

Key species include pike, perch, bream, carp, zander, tench, catfish.
