About Lower Silesian

Lower Silesia (Dolnośląskie) covers south-western Poland from the Sudeten mountains on the Czech border to the Odra (Oder) river plain. The Odra runs through Wrocław — Poland's fourth largest city — and holds catfish, carp, asp, zander and bream on long public banks accessible from the city. The Bóbr and Kwisa rivers descend from the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) through forested gorges holding trout, grayling and huchen, before joining the Odra as productive coarse rivers on the plain.

Jezioro Mietkowskie near Wrocław and the Nysa reservoirs in the south provide stillwater carp, pike and zander fishing. The Karkonosze and Kłodzko Trough areas hold clear mountain streams for fly fishing. Wrocław airport serves the region with direct UK flights. The Dresden to Wrocław road corridor is approximately 14 hours from the Channel Tunnel.

Key species include catfish, carp, asp, zander, pike, trout, grayling, huchen, barbel.
