About Lublin

Lublin (Lubelskie) covers south-eastern Poland between the Bug river and the Roztocze uplands on the Ukrainian border. The Wieprz river — flowing from the Roztocze hills to the Bug — is the region's finest fishing river, holding trout and grayling in its clear limestone-fed upper sections near Zwierzyniec and barbel, chub and pike downstream. The Bystrzyca near Lublin city produces pike, perch and carp on accessible public banks.

The Bug river on the eastern boundary with Belarus and Ukraine is a broad, wild river with outstanding public bank access — catfish, asp, carp and zander are the main species. Polesie National Park in the north-east protects the Polesian wetlands, where carp, tench and pike inhabit shallow, weedy lakes. Lublin is approximately 18 hours from the Channel Tunnel. Rzeszów airport (Subcarpathia) is the nearest major airport with UK connections.

Key species include trout, grayling, barbel, chub, pike, catfish, asp, carp, zander.
