About Lubusz

Lubusz (Lubuskie) occupies the far west of Poland on the Odra (Oder) border with Germany, a region of sandy lowland forests, oxbow lakes and the Odra river itself. The Odra at Frankfurt/Oder and Słubice is a productive public fishery holding catfish, carp, asp, zander and bream — accessible from both the German and Polish banks with a Polish PZW permit. The Warta river enters the Odra from the east through the Warta Mouth National Park, a protected floodplain where asp and bream school in exceptional numbers.

The Łagów and Lubrza lake districts in the southern part of the voivodeship hold pike, perch and carp in clear-water lakes surrounded by beech forests. Zielona Góra is the regional capital; Berlin Schönefeld airport is 100 km west. The region is 12–13 hours from the Channel Tunnel — the most accessible Polish voivodeship for UK anglers driving via Germany.

Key species include catfish, carp, asp, zander, bream, pike, perch, tench.
