Masovia (Mazowieckie) surrounds Warsaw — Poland's capital — and is drained by the Vistula and its major tributaries: the Bug, Narew, Pilica and Bzura. The Vistula through Warsaw is a broad, wild river with undyked sandy banks and excellent public fishing for catfish, asp, carp and zander on both shores. The Bug — Poland's longest unregulated major river — flows through the eastern part of the region, offering pike, perch, bream, asp and catfish in one of central Europe's last genuinely wild river corridors.
The Narew national park north of Warsaw is a UNESCO biosphere reserve where the river braids through extensive floodplain wetlands — a unique environment for pike, bream, tench and carp in shallow, weedy water. Warsaw Chopin airport is one of Poland's busiest international airports with direct UK flights. The region is excellent for combining city tourism with fishing day trips.

Night fishing is permitted on lowland lakes, rivers and canals in Masovia. Bivvy camping (biwakowanie) is recognised under PZW rules.
