About Podlaskie

Podlaskie is Poland's north-eastern corner, bordering Belarus and Lithuania, and holds some of the country's most pristine and remote fishing. The Biebrza river — flowing through Europe's largest complex of floodplain mires in Biebrzański National Park — is a unique wilderness fishery for pike, perch, bream and tench in a primeval wetland setting rarely encountered outside Russia. The Narew, which forms the eastern boundary with Masovia, holds similar species in its wide floodplain.

The Augustów Canal — a historic 19th-century canal connecting the Neman and Vistula basins through the Augustów forest — is one of Poland's most scenic waterways with bream, pike and perch. Wigry National Park north of Suwałki contains the Wigry lake system, holding exceptional pike and perch. Białystok has a small regional airport; Warsaw is 3 hours by road. The region suits UK anglers seeking genuine wilderness fishing far from tourist infrastructure.

Key species include pike, perch, bream, tench, carp, ide, asp.
