About West Pomerania

West Pomerania (Zachodniopomorskie) is the north-western corner of Poland, bordering Germany and the Baltic Sea, and holds the densest concentration of natural lakes in the country. The Drawska Lake District — a glacial plateau south of Koszalin — contains over 200 lakes within a compact area, of which Drawsko, Lubie and Wielimie are the largest and most productive coarse fisheries. The Parsęta, Rega and Drawa rivers add flowing-water options with trout, grayling, huchen and barbel.

The Szczecin Lagoon (Zalew Szczeciński) — a vast brackish-water bay on the German border — produces exceptional pike, perch, zander, bream and asp along its Polish shoreline. The Odra river at Szczecin offers catfish, carp and asp in an accessible urban setting. West Pomerania is approximately 13 hours from the Channel Tunnel via Berlin — one of the most convenient Polish regions for UK anglers driving with tackle.

Key species include pike, perch, zander, bream, asp, catfish, carp, trout, grayling.
