About Nant Ddu

Nant Ddu is a small Welsh stream characterised by fast-flowing, clear water over rocky substrates, typical of upland tributaries in South Wales. The river holds populations of brown trout and grayling, offering good prospects for fly fishing and light spinning in its pools and runs. Access is generally available along much of the river, though permission should be sought from local landowners and Environment Agency regulations regarding any fishing permits must be observed.

Nant Ddu observes the standard close season: 15 March – 15 June (rivers, England & Wales). Always check local byelaws before your visit. A rod licence alone does not grant access — most stretches require club membership or a day ticket in addition.
