The River Sgitheach is a short spate river in the Scottish Highlands with a dramatic character typical of west coast streams, dropping rapidly through rocky gorges and pools. The river offers exciting fishing during high water conditions when it can hold good numbers of sea trout and salmon pushing inland from the sea. Outside of spate conditions, fishing can be challenging as water levels drop significantly, though resident brown trout provide consistent sport in the deeper pools.
