Access & Rules at Sunny Slope Reservoir

Fishing Licence for Sunny Slope Reservoir

Everyone 16 or older needs a Colorado fishing licence — resident annual is about $41 (plus the ~$12 Wildlife Habitat Stamp), non-resident annual about $103, and 1-day licences about $17. No separate trout stamp. Buy from Colorado Parks & Wildlife. Colorado has no public-trust right to float or wade through private land — you may only fish where CPW, a State Wildlife Area lease, a state park or another public agency provides legal access, which every water in this atlas does. Most licences also require the ~$12 Colorado Wildlife Habitat Stamp; there is no separate trout stamp.

State Wildlife Area access

Many CPW stream and lake accesses are State Wildlife Areas — since 2020 everyone 16+ must carry a hunting or fishing licence just to set foot on an SWA Some SWAs are day-use only or have seasonal closures for wildlife — check the CPW property page No reciprocal licences: border reservoirs (e.g. Navajo, John Martin) need a Colorado licence for the Colorado water
