Trout stamp & streambed law

A ~$18 Nebraska trout stamp is required (in addition to the fishing permit) to fish for or keep trout at designated NGPC trout waters — the McConaughy/Ogallala tailrace, Pine Ridge streams and a number of stocked lakes and put-and-take ponds statewide Nebraska treats a river as public only where it was legally 'meandered' (surveyed navigable) at statehood — the Missouri, the Platte and a handful of others qualify; most Sandhills and tributary streams have privately-owned beds
