Deschutes River (WA) is a public river in Thurston County, Washington, managed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. You can fish it on a Washington fishing licence — plus a Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Endorsement to fish the Columbia system for salmon or steelhead, and a free Catch Record Card for salmon, steelhead or sturgeon. Night fishing: Most Washington lakes are open to fishing 24 hours a day unless posted; rivers and streams open and close by season and area, and salmon and steelhead fisheries have set hours. Check the current Washington Sport Fishing Rules for the specific water.
Boats: Washington rivers are drift-boat and raft water (the Skagit, Yakima, Klickitat, Snake especially) or bank-fished; out-of-state boats need a Washington Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Permit.
