Boat fishing: Boat access is restricted at Étang de Pirot. All navigation strictly prohibited, including float tube, paddle, canoe, and kayak (confirmed by Allier Auvergne Tourisme listing). A bait boat ('bateau amorceur') IS permitted, but only within casting distance of the angler's own pitch — strictly limited to the angler's own rod-casting range. Drone bait-boats and any other remote/aerial bait delivery devices are completely prohibited across the entire lake and the surrounding Tronçais forest massif. No motor rules listed separately as no boats of any kind are permitted on the water.
Bivouac & overnight camping is permitted in designated areas only at Étang de Pirot. Angler bivouac tolerated for a maximum of 3 consecutive nights, WITHOUT any night fishing, under strict conditions — anglers must check with the Garderie (bailiff) or AAPPMA de Cérilly directly (tel. 06 89 97 93 63) for authorisation and conditions. Bivouac is NOT tolerated for non-participants during official night fishing events. Wild/savage camping (camping sauvage) is explicitly prohibited. Fires are prohibited. The 'Camping des Écossais' is the official campsite located on the lake shore and provides legal accommodation with direct fishing access. Bivouac is distinct from and independent of standard French bivouac law — it is governed by specific AAPPMA/ONF rules given the Natura 2000 and Forêt d'Exception classifications of the site.
