Lac d'Oncet is an intimate high-altitude natural lake in the Hautes-Pyrénées offering a scenic mountain setting rather than dedicated carp fishing — this is primarily a trout and pike venue, so better suited to mixed coarse anglers than specialist carpers. Bank fishing only on just 7 hectares makes it ideal for a peaceful day session rather than overnight trips, with no night fishing permitted due to its mountain location. You'll need a French fishing licence and AAPPMA card (contact FDAAPPMA 65), and be prepared for the 560-mile journey from Calais — best combined with other lowland carp lakes rather than visited solo.
