Lac de Thorenc is a tiny, pristine mountain lake in the Alpes-Maritimes that's better suited to trout and pike anglers than carp hunters—it's a no-kill trout zone with just 1.38 hectares of intimate bank fishing. Night fishing is forbidden here, and the remote alpine location (546 miles from Calais) makes it a specialist destination rather than a convenient stop on a French carping trip. You'll need an AAPPMA licence and permission from Fédération Pêche Alpes-Maritimes 06; contact them before travelling as this isn't typical carp water.
