Formed by damming a river valley in Creuse, Lac de Viam is a medium-sized public reservoir covering 147 hectares and one of the more significant fisheries in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Species include Carp, Catfish, Pike, Perch, Zander, Tench, Bream and Black Bass — with carp fishing the primary attraction for travelling anglers.
For UK carp anglers, night fishing at Lac de Viam is allowed: Federal night zones. Regarding boats: Electric motors only. Overnight bivouac camping is authorised, ideal for multi-day carp sessions.
