Lac du Vallon is a compact 14.75-hectare alpine reservoir in Provence that won't suit dedicated carp anglers, as it's classified as a 1st Category trout water with no carp present. The lake holds brown trout, rainbow trout, pike and perch, making it better suited to mixed coarse and game fishing rather than specialist carping. Located 455 miles from Calais in the Hautes-Alpes, night fishing is prohibited and bank access only applies.
Practical note: You'll need a French fishing licence and must join the local FDAAPPMA 05 before fishing.
Night fishing at Lac du Vallon is not permitted. Night carp is not authorised in Hautes-Alpes. The department is dominated by mountain lakes and salmonid waters (1st category) where night carp fishing is prohibited. Verify with peche-hautes-alpes.com if this is a 2nd category lake with a specific parcours designation. Anglers must leave the bank before dark.
