Lac Fourchu is an intimate 6.8-hectare alpine lake in the Hautes-Alpes offering genuine seclusion for carp, pike, perch and tench in stunning high-altitude Provence scenery. Bank fishing only, no night fishing allowed, making it ideal for daytime sessions in a peaceful setting far from the crowds. You'll need a French fishing licence and AAPPMA permit (contact FDAAPPMA 05); note it's roughly 450 miles from Calais, so best combined with other regional venues.
Night fishing at Lac Fourchu is not permitted. Night carp is not authorised in Hautes-Alpes. The department is dominated by mountain lakes and salmonid waters (1st category) where night carp fishing is prohibited. Verify with peche-hautes-alpes.com if this is a 2nd category lake with a specific parcours designation. Anglers must leave the bank before dark.
Bivouac & overnight camping is permitted at Lac Fourchu under standard French fishing law — one rod, within 10m of the water, no open fires.
