Lac Supérieur, Hautes-Pyrénées
This intimate 6.5-hectare mountain lake in the Pyrenees offers bank fishing only for trout, pike and perch in a dramatic high-altitude setting—quite different from lowland French carp waters, but worth considering if you're combining trips or exploring beyond traditional carp venues. Night fishing isn't permitted due to the alpine location, making it a daytime-only prospect around 565 miles south of Calais. You'll need a valid French fishing licence and FDAAPPMA 65 card to fish here; contact the Fédération Pêche Hautes-Pyrénées for current access details and seasonal restrictions.
Night fishing at Lac Supérieur is not permitted. Night carp fishing in Hautes-Pyrénées is only permitted on specific named venues per prefectoral order. This lake is not on the authorised list — night carp fishing is prohibited here. See peche65.fr for the full list. Anglers must leave the bank before dark.
Bivouac & overnight camping is permitted at Lac Supérieur under standard French fishing law — one rod, within 10m of the water, no open fires.
