Centura Maliucului is a canal in Tulcea county, Dobruja. It lies inside the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, so fishing requires the ARBDD permits (a free recreational permit and a paid access permit) rather than the ANPA permit, and pike, asp, catfish and carp must be released. Boats are allowed.
Centura Maliucului holds carp, pike, bream, roach. Species information for Romanian public waters comes from OSM and local sources and can vary season to season — check the individual venue and local reports before targeting a species.
Night fishing: Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. Fishing needs two ARBDD permits - a free recreational fishing permit and a paid tourist access permit; the ANPA permit is not valid here. Pike, asp, wels catfish and carp are catch-and-release only; you may keep one fish per day from a single other species, max 3 kg, and carry out at most 10 kg (15 kg per family). ARBDD sets no night-fishing hours limit, but fishing overnight means camping, which is tightly controlled (see camping). You may fish only the lakes and channels listed in Annex 3 of Order 159/1266/2011.
Boats: Own boat permitted with the ARBDD vessel access fee (100 lei/year or 20 lei/stay). Fish only in Annex 3 zones; motor vessels are banned from strictly protected areas and motors over 25 hp need a monitoring system.
Camping: Uncontrolled camping anywhere in the reserve is banned. Stay only at licensed campgrounds or the designated non-motor "slow tourism" overnight points (one night, 21:00-06:00).
Season: Close season: 9 April - 7 June inland waters; 24 April - 7 June Danube & border waters (Ordin 23/297/2025).

There is no ferry to Romania. Most UK anglers fly to Bucharest (Otopeni), Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara or Iași and hire a car, or drive across Europe — roughly 2,112 miles from Calais (26–32 hours) via Belgium, Germany, Austria and Hungary.
Every angler needs the free ANPA recreational permit before fishing in Romania. Contracted inland waters also need the local county association (AJVPS) permit; the Danube Delta needs the ARBDD permits.
Romania has a strongly continental climate, so the season matters. Spring (April–June) is prime for carp, bream and pike-perch on the lowland reservoirs and Danube arms once the water warms, though the annual close season — roughly 9 April to 7 June on inland waters, 24 April to 7 June on the Danube and border rivers — takes a large bite out of it, so check the current ANPA order before you travel. Autumn (September–October) is the other peak, with cooling water and hard-feeding fish, and it is the best window for a big wels catfish from the Danube or the Iron Gates.
Mountain trout and grayling fishing runs from 1 May to 14 September on RNP‑Romsilva water. Summer can be hard on the exposed plain reservoirs in the heat, which pushes carp anglers onto night sessions where the local association allows them. Winter fishing continues on the deeper canals and the Danube for pike-perch and bream. The Danube Delta is best from late spring through autumn, avoiding the close season.
