Carp Fishing in Île-de-France

Île-de-France is the greater Paris region and, perhaps surprisingly, has a number of quality public fishing venues within easy reach of the capital. The Seine river holds excellent public carp fishing through Seine-et-Marne and the western suburbs, with designated night carp secteurs. The region also has numerous gravel pit complexes and reservoirs open to public fishing. For UK anglers the Seine through Île-de-France represents accessible big-fish river fishing — under 200 miles from Calais with good motorway access — and a genuine opportunity to fish for carp within sight of French cultural landmarks.

Species found across Île-de-France's public waters include Bream, Brown Trout, Carp, Perch, Pike, Rainbow Trout, Tench, Zander. A valid Carte de Pêche and affiliation with the local AAPPMA are required at all venues. Annual, weekly and daily licences are available online — buy before leaving the UK.

Planning a Trip to Île-de-France

Île-de-France is 2.5–3 hours from Calais via the A1 — one of the most accessible regions. The Seine and Marne through the Paris region hold surprisingly good public carp and bream fishing. Selected étangs in Seine-et-Marne and Essonne are also worth targeting. Most venues are day-only. Carte de Pêche required — buy at cartedepeche.fr.

Rivers & Canals in Île-de-France

The Seine and Marne through Greater Paris hold surprisingly accessible public carp and bream fishing. The Oise north of Paris and the Yerres in Seine-et-Marne are quieter options. Selected étangs in the Fontainebleau forest and Essonne add stillwater variety. Most rivers are heavily fished but productive for bream, chub and roach as well as carp.

PiscaMaps covers 82 rivers and 16 canals in Île-de-France — each with full rules, night fishing details and local AAPPMA information.
