Fishing in Bratislava

Bratislava Region is built around the Danube and its side-arms — the Danube itself, the Malý Dunaj, the Čierna voda and the Rusovce and Vajnory gravel-pit lakes, plus the city waters of Zlaté piesky, Kuchajda and Veľký Draždiak. It is the most accessible corner of Slovakia for a UK angler, close to Vienna airport.

The Danube and the lowland waters are SRZ carp waters under the 381/2018 hours — 24-hour fishing from June to October. Some revíry around the city (the Čierna voda system) require anglers who camp to carry a portable chemical toilet. A rybársky lístok plus the SRZ permit for the revír are required; guest permits are sold by the day and week.

Fishing Permits in Bratislava

Every angler needs a Slovak state fishing licence (rybársky lístok), issued by any municipal office for roughly €3 a week, €5 a month or €10 a year.

On top of that you need a permit (povolenie) for the specific water from the Slovak Fishing Association (SRZ), whose local organisations manage the revíry. Non-members and visitors buy a guest permit (hosťovacie povolenie) by the day, week or season.

On carp waters the national decree 381/2018 sets the daily fishing hours: 24 hours a day from 1 June to 31 October, 04:00–24:00 in May, 06:00–21:00 from November to April. Standing carp water is closed to carp fishing from 15 March to 31 May; flowing carp water has no annual close. Designated trout and grayling stretches are more restricted.

Always confirm boat and camping rules for the specific water — and check for any nature-reserve overlay (for example VN Sĺňava). PiscaMaps shows what is confirmed for each venue.
