Trenčín Region follows the Váh through the Považie — the corridor between the Strážov hills and the Biele Karpaty. Nosická priehrada (the "Priehrada mládeže", around 400 ha) below Púchov is the main still water; the Váh, the Vlára and the Bebrava carry the river fishing.
Nosická priehrada and the lower Váh are SRZ carp waters under the 381/2018 hours (24-hour fishing June–October). The Biele Karpaty streams are trout water with a 1 October–15 April closed season. A rybársky lístok plus the SRZ permit for the revír are required; guest permits are available by the day and week.
Every angler needs a Slovak state fishing licence (rybársky lístok), issued by any municipal office for roughly €3 a week, €5 a month or €10 a year.
On top of that you need a permit (povolenie) for the specific water from the Slovak Fishing Association (SRZ), whose local organisations manage the revíry. Non-members and visitors buy a guest permit (hosťovacie povolenie) by the day, week or season.
On carp waters the national decree 381/2018 sets the daily fishing hours: 24 hours a day from 1 June to 31 October, 04:00–24:00 in May, 06:00–21:00 from November to April. Standing carp water is closed to carp fishing from 15 March to 31 May; flowing carp water has no annual close. Designated trout and grayling stretches are more restricted.
