Fishing in Trnava

Trnava Region runs from the Malé Karpaty down onto the Danubian Lowland and the Žitný ostrov, the largest river island in Europe. The headline waters are Vodné dielo Kráľová (about 1,065 ha) on the Váh and VN Sĺňava near Piešťany, along with the Váh, the Dudváh and a dense network of Žitný ostrov side-arms and canals.

Kráľová and the lowland rivers are SRZ carp waters (381/2018 hours: 24-hour fishing June–October). VN Sĺňava lies inside a protected area where tents, bivvies, open fires and loose dogs are banned outright — day fishing only in practice — so treat it separately from the general rules. You need a rybársky lístok plus the SRZ permit; guest permits are sold by the day and week.

Fishing Permits in Trnava

Every angler needs a Slovak state fishing licence (rybársky lístok), issued by any municipal office for roughly €3 a week, €5 a month or €10 a year.

On top of that you need a permit (povolenie) for the specific water from the Slovak Fishing Association (SRZ), whose local organisations manage the revíry. Non-members and visitors buy a guest permit (hosťovacie povolenie) by the day, week or season.

On carp waters the national decree 381/2018 sets the daily fishing hours: 24 hours a day from 1 June to 31 October, 04:00–24:00 in May, 06:00–21:00 from November to April. Standing carp water is closed to carp fishing from 15 March to 31 May; flowing carp water has no annual close. Designated trout and grayling stretches are more restricted.

Always confirm boat and camping rules for the specific water — and check for any nature-reserve overlay (for example VN Sĺňava). PiscaMaps shows what is confirmed for each venue.
