Caraș-Severin in the Banat is one of Romania's most mountainous counties, holding the Cerna, Nera, Timiș and Bârzava headwaters and the Semenic reservoirs — Gozna, Trei Ape, Buhui and Mărul. It is a strong wild-trout and grayling region, with lowland carp and pike fishing on the western plain around the Bârzava.
Mountain salmonid waters here are administered by RNP-Romsilva and are daylight only, sunrise to sunset. Lowland non-salmonid waters are contracted to AJVPS Caraș-Severin. You need the free ANPA permit plus the relevant tariff or association permit. Huchen and grayling must be released year-round on mixed waters.
