Fishing in Italy is managed at regional level. The national licence (Licenza di pesca tipo A) is low-cost and widely available. Night fishing is permitted at many venues. Motorised boats are restricted on many alpine lakes.
All anglers require a valid Licenza di pesca tipo A issued by the relevant Italian regional authority (approximately €13). Most regions also require a tesserino regionale (regional fishing card). Day and weekly permits are available at local tackle shops and comune offices. No examination required for visitors.
